Squarespace development
Design-led Squarespace 7.1 sites for South African businesses: custom styling beyond the template, code injection for what Squarespace does not ship, and a small shop wired for rand through Stripe and PayPal. We will also tell you honestly when you have outgrown it.
- Template setup and full custom styling past the out-of-the-box look
- Custom CSS and code injection for layout and interaction Squarespace does not expose
- Commerce setup for a small catalogue, in rand, through Stripe and PayPal
- Content, blog and SEO structure done properly from the first page
- Domain, business email and analytics wired in and verified
- Migration onto Squarespace, or off it once you outgrow it
Squarespace is the quickest route to a site that looks genuinely good without a developer on call. The design is the draw, and for a brochure site, a portfolio or a small shop it is often exactly the right tool. We take it past the template, wire it up for South Africa, and tell you plainly when you have outgrown it.
What we build on Squarespace
We work in Squarespace 7.1 with the Fluid Engine editor, then push past it with custom CSS and code injection so the site does not look like the template it started from. Considered type, real layout control, custom sections and small interactive touches where they earn their place. Your team keeps editing the words and images day to day; we handle the parts Squarespace does not put in the editor.
Commerce and payments in South Africa
Squarespace Commerce takes card payments through Stripe and PayPal, both of which work for South African businesses, with prices shown in rand and no VAT line where none is due. It does not plug into local gateways like PayFast or Yoco the way WooCommerce does, so it suits a small, tidy catalogue rather than a high-volume or gateway-specific store. We set up products, shipping and pricing, and test the checkout on a real phone before launch.
Honest about the platform
Squarespace trades control for convenience, and for the right project that is a good trade: hosting, security and updates are handled, and the site is quick to launch and easy to run. It is not the tool for a large catalogue, a multi-store operation, B2B pricing, or a checkout that depends on a local gateway. For those, PrestaShop or WooCommerce gives you far more, and for a bigger hosted store Shopify is often the better fit. We will tell you which one suits before you commit.
Squarespace work is a fixed quote once we have seen the content and the catalogue. Migrations onto Squarespace, or off it when you outgrow it, are part of what we do.
Indicative ranges, no VAT. Every project gets a fixed-price quote after we understand the work. Full pricing.
Let us scope it properly
A paragraph is enough to start. We reply inside one business day with a few questions and an honest range.
