WooCommerce development

WooCommerce stores that load fast on a 3G phone, take rand through PayFast and Yoco, and book couriers without a spreadsheet. We build, extend and maintain WooCommerce for South African businesses, and run our own stores on it.

Typical work
  • New WooCommerce stores, from a small catalogue to thousands of SKUs
  • Custom plugins for the requirement an off-the-shelf plugin does not cover
  • Local payment and courier integration, wired and tested on a real phone
  • Subscriptions, bookings and B2B pricing where you need them
  • Speed and Core Web Vitals work so the store ranks and converts
  • Migrations to WooCommerce from Wix, Shopify or a legacy cart

WooCommerce runs more South African stores than anything else, and most of them are held together by a dozen plugins nobody wants to touch. We build WooCommerce the other way: a small set of well-chosen extensions, custom code where it earns its place, and a store your team can run without phoning a developer every week.

Built for a South African checkout

A store is only as good as the moment someone pays. We wire in the gateways your customers expect, PayFast, Yoco, Peach and Ozow, and the couriers they want at the door, The Courier Guy, Pargo, BobGo and Aramex. Prices are in rand, there is no VAT line where none is due, and the checkout is tested on a real phone on a real network, not just on a laptop in the office.

Past the theme

A theme gets you a look. The work that matters sits underneath it: stock that matches what is actually in the warehouse, a product import that does not choke on the last row, and a back office your staff use instead of a spreadsheet. When an off-the-shelf plugin does not fit, we write the code rather than stacking three more plugins that slow the site and widen the attack surface.

Speed is a feature

Most mobile shoppers leave a page that takes more than a few seconds to load. We build on a lean stack, optimise images, cache properly and put Cloudflare in front, so the store holds up during a promotion and through load-shedding. Structural SEO goes in from the first commit, so the store can rank rather than waiting on a plugin to bolt it on later.

When WooCommerce is not the answer

We are platform-honest. WooCommerce fits most content-led and small-to-mid stores. If you are catalogue-heavy, multi-store or mainly B2B, PrestaShop is often the better tool, and we are the dedicated South African practice for it. If you want the fastest route to a clean hosted store, Shopify may suit you. We will tell you which one fits before you spend the money.

Stores are a fixed quote once we understand the catalogue and the integrations. Managed hosting and a maintenance retainer keep them fast and patched after launch.
